SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Born in Manchester, England, Malindy studied Fine Art at Liverpool College of Art in the 1960s. After marrying and raising a family, she began her professional career as an artist in the mid 1990s, moving to the Black Isle near Inverness, Scotland. Influenced by the stark beauty of the Scottish Highlands, she carefully developed her technique and style to create many landscapes during her four years there.

From 1999 to the present day she has been based in Sandown on the Isle of Wight. Inspired by the rolling island contours and her working and living environment, she has refined a colourful impressionist / fauvist style in oils and acrylics that is uniquely her own. During her time on the island she has also developed skills in batik design, producing lively works based around nautical themes suited to the medium.

Throughout her career Malindy has been especially inspired by the natural world, with trees and flowers in particular featuring in many of her paintings. A great lover of abstract art, she considers the style her first love, creating numerous works in various mediums throughout her life.
